About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for large‑scale commercial projects, multi‑family buildings, and high‑rise developments. Experience with K‑12 projects is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical System Design: Lead design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Construction Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- CAD & Revit: Utilize software tools for accurate and efficient system layouts.
- Site Inspections: Conduct visits to ensure compliance with design specifications and local building codes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, and stakeholders.
- Energy Analysis: Perform load calculations, system sizing, and energy efficiency studies.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to US codes and standards (IBC, International Building Codes).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of proven experience in mechanical system design for large commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in CAD and Revit software.
- Familiarity with US building codes and standards (IBC mandatory).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with multi‑family buildings and high‑rise projects.
- Exposure to green building design and sustainable practices is a plus.
- K‑12 project experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Green Building Rating Systems (LEED, IGBC).
- Experience with Energy Simulation Software.
