Job Summary
The Senior Piping Construction Engineer leads the on-site fabrication, installation, and commissioning of piping systems within high-stakes oil, gas, and petrochemical environments. This role requires managing diverse materials (metallic and non-metallic) and ensuring rigorous adherence to international safety codes and construction timelines.
Core Responsibilities
- Construction Management: Lead the fabrication, erection, and installation of piping systems, including pipe rack engineering and OSBL (Outside Battery Limits) refinery areas.
- Shutdown & Brownfield Projects: Oversee refinery shutdown activities, including dismantling, immediate installation, and commissioning under tight timelines.
- Technical Compliance: Verify all work follows ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), B31.1, and API standards.
- Design & Modeling Review: Perform and review piping layouts, isometrics, GA drawings, and clash-free routing using SP3D, E3D, or Navisworks.
- Integrity Testing: Manage hydro-testing, pneumatic testing, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) coordination, and punch-point closures.
- Resource & Subcontractor Lead: Monitor subcontractor performance, resource utilization, and progress reporting to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- BTech/BE in Mechanical Engineering: Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in large-scale EPC or refinery projects.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: Minimum 20+ years of extensive on-site experience in petrochemical plant construction.
- Knowledge & Deep expertise in piping materials (CS, SS, Alloy Steel) and non-metallic systems (FRP, GRP, HDPE) common in modern Gujarat-based plants.
