About the Role
VIBGYOR Group of Schools is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced History & Political Science Teacher to join our Secondary School team. The ideal candidate should possess strong subject expertise and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for students of Grades 7 to 9 following the CBSE and ICSE curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in History and Political Science for Grades 7–9.
- Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE and ICSE curriculum through innovative teaching methodologies.
- Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and civic awareness among students.
- Design lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Assess student performance through regular tests, assignments, presentations, and classroom participation.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress.
- Integrate technology and activity-based learning into classroom instruction.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary activities, and school events.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, school functions, and extracurricular activities.
- Uphold the school's values, child safety policies, and professional standards.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in History, Political Science, or a related Social Science discipline.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (Mandatory).
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in CBSE and/or ICSE schools.
- Experience teaching Secondary School students (Grades 7–9) is preferred.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching tools, smart boards, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
Preferred Skills
- Thorough understanding of CBSE and ICSE curriculum frameworks.
- Ability to make Social Science engaging through debates, discussions, case studies, maps, and project-based learning.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Passion for student development and continuous professional learning.
- Ability to inspire curiosity, historical thinking, and responsible citizenship.
