The South Indian Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. The role supports senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensures timely preparation of menu items in accordance with hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, appam, pongal, upma, sambar, rasam, chutneys, and other regional specialties.
- Assist senior chefs in mise en place and food preparation.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area at all times.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO/FEFO).
- Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages.
- Minimize food wastage and control production costs.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow food safety, personal hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Assist during buffet setups, live counters, and banquet operations.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations.
- Comply with hotel policies, SOPs, and safety regulations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or Food Production.
- Food Safety & Hygiene certification is an added advantage
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
