Job Description
- Assess and triage patients presenting with emergency conditions.
- Provide immediate medical treatment and stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
- Perform emergency procedures such as suturing, wound management, intubation, CPR, and fracture stabilization as required.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, ECGs, and other diagnostic investigations.
- Prescribe medications and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
- Coordinate patient referrals and admissions to relevant specialties.
- Monitor patients until they are stabilized or transferred.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, ambulance services, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in emergency drills, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Education: MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Licensure: Valid registration with the Medical Council.
Experience
Minimum 1–3 years experience in Emergency/Casualty Department preferred.
