1. Drawing Management & Review
- Study architectural, structural, and service drawings.
- Check drawings for accuracy, dimensions, and feasibility.
- Identify and report discrepancies or missing details.
- Coordinate with design consultants for revisions and clarifications.
- Ensure latest revisions are used on site.
2. Quantity Takeoff
- Extract quantities from drawings (RCC, steel, masonry, finishing works).
- Prepare and update BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
- Cross-check quantities with site conditions.
3. Estimation & Cost Planning
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings and specifications.
- Calculate material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Assist in budgeting and cost control.
- Evaluate cost impact of design changes.
4. Rate Analysis
- Develop rate analysis for construction activities.
- Break down costs into material, labor, machinery, overheads, and profit.
- Compare market rates and supplier quotations.
5. Site Coordination
- Coordinate with site engineers for execution as per drawings.
- Provide technical support for layout and measurements.
- Verify work progress against planned quantities.
6. Billing & Documentation
- Prepare contractor and subcontractor bills.
- Check quantities in RA (Running Account) bills.
- Maintain measurement records and supporting documents.
7. Material Planning
- Estimate material requirements based on drawings.
- Coordinate procurement schedules.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
8. Software & Tools
- Work with:
- AutoCAD (drawing reading and basic drafting)
- MS Excel (estimation, BOQ, cost tracking)
- Estimation/quantity software (if used in company)
9. Tendering Support
- Assist in preparing tender documents and BOQs.
- Analyze contractor quotations.
- Support bid comparison and evaluation.
10. Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on quantities and costs.
- Track variations and extra works.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits.
Required Skills
- Strong drawing reading ability
