Job Summary
We are looking for an innovative and experienced R&D Head to lead the Research & Development function in our electronic manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving product innovation, leading product design and development, managing engineering teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the successful commercialization of electronic products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end research and development of electronic products from concept to commercialization.
- Define the R&D strategy in line with business objectives and market trends.
- Manage product design, prototyping, testing, validation, and product improvements.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, including hardware, embedded systems, firmware, and mechanical design.
- Oversee PCB design, circuit development, component selection, and product optimization.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards (CE, UL, RoHS, EMC, etc.).
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams for seamless product transfer to manufacturing.
- Drive innovation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage R&D budgets, project timelines, technical documentation, and resource planning.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, patents, and market opportunities to enhance product competitiveness.
- Mentor and develop the R&D team while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- M.Tech or MBA (Technology Management) is an added advantage.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Electronics R&D or Product Development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading R&D teams in the electronics manufacturing industry.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in electronic product design and development.
- Experience in PCB design, embedded systems, microcontrollers, analog and digital circuits.
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Familiarity with CAD/EDA tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar.
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFT (Design for Test), and DFMEA.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IPC standards, and regulatory certifications.
- Excellent project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/PLM systems and MS Office.
