Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented SolidWorks Designer with experience in sheet metal fabrication, electrical panel enclosures, metal furniture, and customized fabricated components.
The candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, sheet metal designs, assemblies, and fabrication-ready documentation using SolidWorks.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design sheet metal components, assemblies, brackets, panels, cabinets, enclosures, and structures.
- Develop designs for electrical panel enclosures, control panels, junction boxes, server/network cabinets, and industrial cabinets.
- Design metal furniture, including tables, workstations, cabinets, racks, storage systems, and customized furniture.
- Prepare flat patterns, bend details, DXF files, and fabrication drawings for laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Select appropriate sheet thickness, bend radius, bend allowance/K-factor, material, and fabrication methods.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and maintain accurate part and assembly documentation.
- Modify existing designs based on customer requirements and engineering changes.
- Review designs for manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and cost effectiveness.
- Coordinate with the production, fabrication, welding, bending, and assembly teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Understand and incorporate GD&T, tolerances, welding symbols, surface finish, and fabrication standards.
- Prepare prototypes and production drawings as required.
- Ensure all drawings and models are properly controlled and updated as per company procedures.
Required Skills
- Good working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D and 2D drafting.
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks Sheet Metal tools.
- Experience in creating flat patterns and bend drawings.
- Knowledge of laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake bending, welding, grinding, and powder coating processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet metal materials and thicknesses, such as CRCA, GI, SS, Aluminium, etc.
- Understanding of fabrication tolerances and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Good knowledge of BOM preparation and assembly drawings.
- Ability to work with customer drawings and convert them into manufacturing-ready designs.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Educational Qualification
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in SolidWorks and sheet metal fabrication.
Freshers with strong SolidWorks Sheet Metal knowledge and practical project experience may also be considered.
Pay: ₹14,110.95 - ₹35,000.00 per month
