Summary:
Lead an integrated structural engineering function covering static, dynamic, impact, fatigue, and damage tolerance (F&DT) analysis for rotary-wing and fixed-wing aerostructure programs, with end-to-end ownership of technical governance and delivery.
Act as the senior technical authority and key client interface, engaging OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support design decisions, certification strategies, and lifecycle outcomes.
Drive capability development, succession planning, and a high-performance culture across multidisciplinary stress engineering teams.
Champion digital transformation through MBSE, MBD, automation, digital continuity, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
Roles & Responsibilities
Technical Governance & Engineering Leadership
Serve as technical authority and Level II approver for static, dynamic, impact, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses of primary and secondary structures.
Establish and govern structural analysis standards, methodologies, quality processes, and review frameworks across static and F&DT disciplines.
Provide technical oversight throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development and detailed design to certification, testing, and correlation activities.
Guide structural design philosophy, load path optimization, and interpretation of analysis results in accordance with OEM and regulatory requirements.
Lead resolution of structural non-conformances, airworthiness issues, and critical technical risks through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ensure technical requirements, deliverables, and quality expectations are achieved within program schedules.
Delivery Ownership & Program Management
Own end-to-end stress engineering delivery, including planning, scope management, requirements traceability, milestone tracking, and resource management.
Establish consistent project governance, certification documentation, reporting standards, and tool deployment across programs.
Drive engineering change management by assessing schedule, cost, resource, and technical impacts while maintaining effective change control.
Ensure delivery meets cost, schedule, weight, performance, contractual, and regulatory commitments.
Maintain accountability for utilization, program execution, delivery performance, and business objectives.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary technical and program interface for clients, supporting audits, design reviews, quality gates, and executive-level discussions.
Build and sustain relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and strategic stakeholders to strengthen delivery and business growth.
Align engineering outputs with client expectations and long-term program objectives.
Lead technical discussions with customer and regulatory representatives as required.
People Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary stress engineering teams across static, dynamic, and F&DT domains.
Conduct technical coaching, performance reviews, career development planning, and succession management.
Strengthen OEM-specific and broader aerospace competencies through structured training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Promote a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Digital Transformation & Innovation

Professional & Technical Skills
Technical Skills (Static, Dynamic & F&DT)
Strong knowledge of FEA principles, meshing strategies, and structural analysis for static, dynamic, buckling, impact, and F&DT applications.
Deep understanding of aircraft and helicopter structures, load paths, stiffness optimization, structural integrity, and fatigue behavior.
Expertise in fatigue, fracture mechanics, fatigue spectrum development, crack growth analysis, and durability assessment for metallic and composite structures.
Experience in F&DT compliance assessments, structural classification, scatter factor selection, and certification justification.
Knowledge of configuration management, engineering change processes, and product lifecycle management.
Expertise in design, development, integration, and certification of metallic and composite aerospace structures.
Experience in weight optimization, structural testing, test correlation, life extension programs, and fatigue-resistant design.
Strong understanding of airworthiness regulations (CS/FAR 23, 25, 27, 29, Part 25.571, Part 29.571, MIL-STD-1530) and FAA/EASA certification processes.
Experience preparing and reviewing test plans, load derivations, test procedures, and correlation reports.
Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards is desirable.
Tool Expertise
Proficient in aerospace analysis tools such as MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, HyperMesh/OptiStruct, ISAMI, NASGRO, FRANC3D, and MSC Fatigue.
Exposure to LS-DYNA or similar explicit analysis tools is advantageous.
Experience guiding automation using Excel VBA, Python, CATIA V5, and digital engineering toolchains.

16+ years of experience in the Aerostructures domain, including 7+ years in technical leadership, program governance, or delivery ownership roles.
Demonstrated expertise in static, dynamic, impact, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis across the complete aircraft design lifecycle.
Experience supporting major aerospace OEM programs, with knowledge of engineering standards, certification practices, and airworthiness requirements.
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams spanning design, stress, manufacturing, systems integration, and quality.
Strong experience in managing customer relationships and delivery accountability within OEM or Tier-1 environments.
