JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a passionate, skilled Barista to join Café de Paris at Hotel Le Royal Park. The successful candidate will craft exceptional coffee beverages, provide warm hospitality to our guests, and maintain the highest standards of quality and service in our upscale hotel café.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coffee Preparation:
- Prepare high-quality espresso-based beverages (espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha, etc.)
- Grind, tamp, and extract coffee beans to optimal standards
- Steam and texture milk to create perfect microfoam and latte art
- Brew filter coffee, cold brew, and other coffee beverages
- Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation
Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly and take orders with a friendly demeanor
- Recommend beverages and food pairings based on guest preferences
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally
- Build rapport with regular guests and remember their preferences
- Maintain a clean, inviting café atmosphere
Café Operations:
- Open and close the café according to schedule
- Maintain inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and supplies
- Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to management
- Order supplies as needed (under supervision)
- Ensure cash handling and POS system accuracy
Quality & Safety:
- Maintain cleanliness of espresso machine, grinders, and workstations
- Follow health and safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Clean and sanitize equipment daily
- Store ingredients properly and follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out)
- Dispose of waste according to hotel policies
Team Collaboration:
- Work cooperatively with café staff, kitchen, and service team
- Train new baristas on coffee preparation and café standards
- Assist with menu development and special beverage promotions
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- 1–2 years of experience as a barista or in café service
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and espresso extraction
- Ability to steam milk and create latte art
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional appearance and grooming standards
- Fluency in English and Tamil; French is a plus
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred:
- Experience working in hotels, upscale cafés, or restaurants
- Knowledge of tea, pastries, and light food items
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling
