About the Role
We're looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on expertise in WordPress and Shopify to join our in-house team. The ideal candidate can independently handle end-to-end website and store development - from theme/plugin customization to backend and payment integrations - while maintaining high standards of security, performance, and code quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain websites on WordPress (including WooCommerce) and stores on Shopify
- Customize and build WordPress themes, plugins, and Shopify themes, including custom sections, templates, and metafields/meta objects for dynamic content
- Convert Figma/PSD designs into responsive, functional websites
- Handle backend development for both CMS platforms, including database (MySQL) management and REST API/webhook integrations
- Implement and manage payment gateway integrations for e-commerce sites
- Apply security best practices and perform regular security and speed/performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, caching, page load speed)
- Apply basic on-page SEO practices (meta tags, keywords, site structure)
- Manage basic server administration, hosting, and SSL configuration; comfortable with Linux environments and tools like phpMyAdmin, FileZilla, and SSH
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, broken links, checkout errors, and other technical issues
- Test changes in staging before deploying to production, ensuring cross-browser/device compatibility
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and project teams to deliver on time
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on full stack development experience
- Strong, proven experience with WordPress (themes, plugins, WooCommerce) and Shopify (Liquid, theme customization, metafields/dynamic sections, app integrations)
- Good working knowledge of PHP, along with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Solid understanding of MySQL, REST APIs, and webhooks
- Experience with payment gateway integrations
- Working knowledge of servers, hosting environments, and SSL setup; basic AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront) and Cloudflare knowledge is a plus
- Practical knowledge of security hardening and speed/performance optimization for websites
- Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- BTech/BE/MCA/MTech or equivalent, self-motivated and detail-oriented
