Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Test Automation, API Testing, Playwright/Selenium/Cypress, Azure, Kubernetes, SQL Validation, CI/CD, and QA Framework Design.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, developing automated UI and API test suites, validating data using SQL, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. The candidate should have strong experience working with cloud-native applications deployed on Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, and backend applications.
- Develop automated UI test cases using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
- Design and execute comprehensive API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent frameworks.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop reusable automation components, utilities, libraries, and test scripts.
- Perform SQL-based data validation to verify data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Validate database transactions and backend data against expected application behavior.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Execute automated tests as part of continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Work with Azure cloud services to test applications deployed in cloud environments.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting for applications running in Kubernetes/containerized environments.
- Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work closely with developers to resolve defects.
- Design and implement QA strategies, automation standards, and best practices.
- Define and maintain automation framework architecture to support scalability and maintainability.
- Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, and release validation.
- Track and report defects using tools such as Jira, Azure Boards, or similar platforms.
- Maintain test documentation, automation reports, test metrics, and quality dashboards.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall QA processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation and QA framework development.
- Experience with at least one modern automation framework such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Strong experience with API testing and RESTful services.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries for database and data validation.
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments.
- Good understanding of Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and Agile practices.
- Experience with Git and version control systems.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of Page Object Model (POM), data-driven testing, keyword-driven testing, and BDD approaches.
- Experience with API automation using REST Assured, Postman, Karate, or similar tools.
- Experience with test reporting tools such as Allure, Extent Reports, or similar.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps Test Plans or similar test management tools.
- Experience testing microservices and distributed applications.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or similar.
- Experience with security and basic vulnerability testing concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud-native application architectures.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
