Role Overview
We are looking for an Electrical Wiring Harness Design Engineer to develop and validate automotive wiring harnesses covering 3D routing, electrical schematics, DMU validation, component selection and supplier release packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize 3D wiring harness routing and packaging across vehicle zones.
- Define bundle diameters, branches, service loops and protective coverings.
- Create and validate circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, harness formboard and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Extract and manage BOMs, connector pinouts, splice schedules and retention hardware.
- Select connectors, terminals, cavity plugs, relays, fuses, grommets and protective components based on application requirements.
- Perform DMU clearance, clash/interference and dynamic buckle analysis for harness flex zones.
- Generate supplier data exports and review supplier manufacturing drawings through PEI/DFM processes.
- Prepare and release milestone packages including TGA, VC, PPC and TR05 and archive CAD assets in PLM systems.
- Track design changes, issues and release activities and support cross-functional root-cause resolution.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong automotive wiring harness / EDS design experience.
- 3D routing experience in CATIA V5/V6, 3DEXPERIENCE or NX Routing.
- Electrical schematic experience with Siemens Capital / Capital XC or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Teamcenter/Enovia and automotive EDS release processes.
- Understanding of harness packaging, DMU/clash analysis and dynamic flex/buckle behaviour.
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA and applicable automotive wiring standards.
Preferred Skills
- Siemens Capital Harness XC / Logic / Integrator.
- Cerio or SolidWorks Electrical.
- NPDM/Enovia exposure.
- Experience with BCM, EMS, ABS, ADAS or Airbag systems.
- Knowledge of USCAR / Ford W-STD.
Candidate Profile
Automotive Wiring Harness/EDS Engineer with 3–5+ years of relevant experience, strong 3D routing and schematic capability and hands-on experience in vehicle electrical packaging and release processes.
