Desktop Support EngineerJob Summary
We are looking for a motivated Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical support to end users by installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.
- Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, scanner, and peripheral hardware issues.
- Install, configure, and support Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and other business applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic network connectivity issues.
- Perform password resets and basic User administration.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot local and network printers.
- Perform operating system updates, driver installations, routine maintenance, and preventive health checks.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate support teams.
- Perform backup and restoration of user data before system rebuilds or replacements.
- Support basic mobile devices (Android/iPhone) when required.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure proper asset tracking.
Required Technical SkillsOperating Systems
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Basic knowledge of macOS (preferred).
- Basic Linux desktop knowledge (optional).
Windows Administration & Troubleshooting
- Windows installation, reinstallation, and configuration.
- User account creation and management.
- Driver installation and troubleshooting.
- Boot issue diagnosis and recovery.
- Safe Mode and Windows Recovery Environment.
- Windows Update troubleshooting.
- Blue Screen (BSOD) troubleshooting.
- Slow system performance analysis.
- Startup and login issue troubleshooting.
- File permission management.
- Disk cleanup and system optimization.
- System Restore and File History.
Hardware Support
- Troubleshoot desktops and laptops.
- Diagnose hardware failures.
- Replace or upgrade RAM, HDD/SSD, power supplies, and other components.
- Assemble and disassemble desktop and laptop systems.
- Troubleshoot POST, boot, and overheating issues.
- Knowledge of motherboard, CPU, RAM, storage devices, graphics cards, and BIOS/UEFI configuration.
Software Support
- Install and troubleshoot Microsoft Office.
- Install and configure business applications.
- Install printer and scanner software.
- Troubleshoot application crashes and software compatibility issues.
- Remove malware and perform basic system cleanup.
Networking Basics
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing, and Default Gateway.
- Basic troubleshooting of LAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity.
- Familiarity with networking tools such as Ping, IPCONFIG, and Tracert.
Printer & Peripheral Support
- Install and configure local and network printers.
- Troubleshoot printer connectivity and print spooler issues.
- Replace toner or ink cartridges.
- Clear print queues.
- Support scanners and other peripheral devices.
Remote Support
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Remote Desktop (RDP)
- AnyDesk
- TeamViewer
IT Service Management
- Asset and inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications

Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month
