Mechatronics Engineering Intern (Robotics & Medical Devices)

About the Role
We're hiring a Mechatronics Engineering Intern to join our engineering team working on next-generation robotic medical devices. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on live product development, integrating mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, and embedded hardware while gaining practical exposure to design, prototyping, testing, and product development in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, model, and simulate mechanical components and assemblies using Autodesk Fusion 360.
- Support mechanical prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and testing of electromechanical systems.
- Integrate mechanical components with sensors, actuators, motors, and embedded hardware.
- Assist in the development and testing of robotic mechanisms and motion systems.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including:
- Engineering Drawings
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Design Specifications
- Assembly Instructions
- Support procurement activities by sourcing vendors, raising purchase requests, and coordinating with suppliers for mechanical and electronic components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical, Electronics, Embedded Systems, and Software Engineering.
- Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and product development meetings.
- Conduct basic analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Perform functional testing, validation, and performance evaluation of prototypes.
- Maintain accurate records of design iterations, testing results, engineering changes, and project progress.
- Assist in product improvements based on testing observations and engineering feedback.
- Ensure proper organization of engineering documentation and prototype inventory.
- Support day-to-day engineering, laboratory, and production activities as required.
What We're Looking For
- Pursuing or recently completed a B.E./B.Tech in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 (mandatory). Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software is an added advantage.

- Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical assemblies.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work in an on-site startup environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
