reverseBits is seeking a passionate MERN Stack Developer to join our growing team. We are looking for someone with 1+ years of professional experience (excluding internships) in building web applications using React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
The ideal candidate should have strong JavaScript fundamentals, a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, and experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into functional web application features.
- Develop and maintain frontend applications using React.js.
- Build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
- Work with MongoDB and MySQL databases for application development and data management.
- Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and reusable code following development best practices.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across frontend, backend, and database layers.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining production applications and resolving support-related issues.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team during deployments and release activities.
- Actively utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Windsurf, or similar platforms to improve productivity, assist with debugging, testing, documentation, code reviews, and development workflows.
- Validate AI-generated solutions and ensure code quality, maintainability, security, and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Continuously learn and stay updated with modern web technologies, development practices, and AI-assisted software engineering workflows.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of professional software development experience (excluding internships) in the MERN stack.
- Good understanding of JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, and Express.js.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB is mandatory.
- Basic understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
- Familiarity with database concepts and working knowledge of MongoDB and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming and API communication.
- Knowledge of TypeScript fundamentals, including types, interfaces, and basic TypeScript development concepts.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Windsurf, or similar platforms as part of the software development workflow.
- Ability to leverage AI tools for code generation, debugging, testing, documentation, refactoring, and problem-solving while maintaining engineering standards and code quality.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as JWT.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Exposure to TypeScript-based projects.
- Exposure to microservices architecture.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience with Docker or containerized development environments.
- Personal projects, open-source contributions, or AI-powered application development experience.
