Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare the operation theatre before every surgical procedure.
- Ensure all OT instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies are available and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during surgical procedures.
- Maintain proper sterilization and infection-control practices.
- Arrange surgical instruments, gowns, drapes, sutures, and other consumables as required.
- Check the functioning of OT equipment such as cautery, suction apparatus, operating lights, anesthesia equipment, and monitors.
- Assist in patient positioning and safe transfer of patients to and from the OT.
- Maintain sterile techniques throughout procedures.
- Perform counting of instruments, needles, and surgical materials as per hospital protocol.
- Handle and dispose of biomedical waste according to applicable hospital procedures.
- Clean and disinfect the OT and equipment after each procedure.
- Maintain OT registers, records, checklists, and documentation.
- Check stock levels and inform the OT In-charge about shortages or damaged equipment.
- Ensure emergency surgical equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Coordinate with CSSD, nursing, anesthesia, housekeeping, and other departments for smooth OT operations.
- Follow hospital policies, patient-safety protocols, and infection-prevention guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
- Participate in emergency and on-call OT duties as assigned.
Qualification
- Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant hospital/OT experience preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization, infection control, and OT procedures.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
