We’re now looking for a Technical Lead & People Manager – Solution and Architecture, a unique opportunity that combines people leadership, delivery ownership, and technical direction in a role where your impact will be felt across the bank.
About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer, you will lead the Solution and Architecture team, with accountability for team performance, delivery outcomes, and engineering standards.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and inclusive team culture
- Build capability through mentoring, feedback, and development planning
- Drive clarity and alignment through strong communication and decision-making
Delivery & Ownership
- Own resource allocation and delivery priorities across projects and BAU
- Ensure delivery outcomes are predictable, aligned, and of high quality
- Balance delivery timelines with technical quality, risk, and sustainability
Technical & Architectural Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and oversight across the delivery lifecycle
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices, tools, and patterns
Standards & Governance
- Define and embed engineering standards, architectural principles, and best practices
- Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and internal policies
- Contribute to governance forums and guide decision-making across initiatives
About you
You are an experienced technology leader who brings a strong balance of people leadership and technical depth.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience leading and developing technical teams
- Strong knowledge of cloud and architecture practices (Azure highly regarded)
- Experience delivering complex technology initiatives end-to-end
- The ability to set direction, make decisions, and influence stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts clearly
