Role description
- Develop and deploy ML-driven automation to accelerate place-and-route and related physical design flows.
- Build end-to-end ML solutions including data collection, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Integrate LLMs and apply prompt engineering to enable automation, decision support, and developer/operator tooling.
- Design and implement workflow automation and change-management systems to handle design variants, constraints, and sign-off processes.
- Collaborate with physical-design engineers, CAD tool owners, and MLOps/DevOps teams to embed ML capabilities into CAD flows.
- Run reproducible experiments, maintain benchmarks and metrics, perform error analysis, and iterate on models and features.
Required qualifications
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in physical design/CAD (place-and-route, floorplanning, timing and congestion analysis) or equivalent design execution experience.
- 1-2 years of experience developing ML models and ML pipelines, with practical experience in feature engineering and model evaluation.
- Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern ML libraries/frameworks.
- Practical experience with LLMs and prompt engineering for automation or workflow augmentation.
- Good software engineering practices (modular code, unit tests, git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate domain problems into data/ML solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior exposure to EDA tools and vendors (Synopsys, Cadence) and scripting for tool flows (TCL, Perl, Python).
- Experience with RTL-to-GDS physical-design flow optimization or signoff automation.
Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
