Senior Modular Furniture Designer – Cabinet Vision

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Modular Furniture / Cabinet Designer to join our design and production team.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of modular furniture, wardrobes, kitchens, cabinets, interior furniture detailing, and production requirements. Experience in SketchUp or similar furniture-design software will be highly preferred.
Our production process is largely driven through Cabinet Vision software. Since experienced Cabinet Vision designers are limited in the market, we are open to hiring a strong and experienced furniture designer who has good practical knowledge and is willing to learn Cabinet Vision. Training will be provided on Cabinet Vision and our production workflow.
The person will eventually be responsible for taking designs from the initial concept through detailed production drawings and Cabinet Vision-based production output.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop detailed designs for modular kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, storage units, TV units, and other modular furniture.
- Understand client requirements, interior drawings, site dimensions, and design concepts.
- Convert design concepts into practical, production-ready furniture designs.
- Prepare accurate furniture layouts, elevations, sections, dimensions, and construction details.
- Work closely with the interior design and architecture team to understand design requirements and coordinate furniture details.
- Prepare designs using SketchUp or other relevant design software.
- Learn and work extensively with Cabinet Vision for cabinet design and production requirements.
- Convert approved designs into accurate Cabinet Vision models suitable for manufacturing.
- Understand cabinet construction, panel sizes, hardware requirements, edge banding, drilling, joinery, and other production-related details.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure that designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Identify design issues before production and make necessary corrections.
- Generate and verify production-related information through Cabinet Vision.
- Coordinate with the production and installation teams whenever clarification is required.
- Ensure accuracy in dimensions, materials, hardware, and construction details before releasing designs for production.
- Maintain proper design standards and documentation.
- Take responsibility for the accuracy and quality of assigned projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in modular furniture, cabinetry, interior furniture, kitchen, wardrobe, or related design work.
- Strong practical knowledge of furniture construction and manufacturing.
- Good understanding of modular furniture detailing and production processes.
- Good knowledge of SketchUp or similar furniture/design software.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and convert concepts into production-ready designs.
- Strong understanding of dimensions, materials, hardware, and cabinet construction.
- Good problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with designers, production teams, and other departments.
Cabinet Vision Experience
Cabinet Vision experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
Candidates with strong practical knowledge of modular furniture and cabinet design but without Cabinet Vision experience are also encouraged to apply.
We are specifically looking for someone who:
Understands furniture first and software second.
If you have strong knowledge of how cabinets are actually designed, constructed, manufactured, and installed, we can provide training in Cabinet Vision and our production workflow.
