A Jewellery Salesman (or Jewellery Sales Associate) is responsible for helping customers select and purchase jewellery while providing excellent customer service and maintaining product knowledge.
Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Customer Service
- Greet customers and understand their requirements.
- Assist customers in selecting jewellery based on their preferences, budget, and occasion.
- Build trust and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and after-sales service requests.
2. Product Knowledge
- Explain details about gold, silver, diamond, platinum, gemstones, and other jewellery products.
- Describe purity, weight, certification, making charges, and pricing.
- Stay updated on new collections, designs, and industry trends.
3. Sales and Revenue Generation
- Achieve individual and store sales targets.
- Upsell and cross-sell related products such as matching sets, accessories, or extended services.
- Promote ongoing offers, schemes, and loyalty programs.
4. Billing and Transactions
- Prepare sales invoices and assist with billing processes.
- Handle cash, card, UPI, and other payment methods accurately.
- Ensure all sales documentation is completed properly.
5. Inventory Management
- Display jewellery attractively in showcases.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Assist in stock counting, audits, and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of valuable items.
6. Security and Compliance
- Follow store security procedures for handling high-value products.
- Verify customer documents when required for high-value purchases.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies.
7. Store Maintenance
- Keep displays clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Ensure the showroom is presentable at all times.
- Assist in merchandising and promotional activities.
