About the Role
We are looking for a caring, energetic, creative, and responsible Pre-Primary Teacher who is passionate about working with young children. The teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, happy, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children.
Key Responsibilities1. Classroom Teaching & Learning
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate activities for preschool children.
- Teach foundational concepts such as phonics, pre-writing, numbers, vocabulary, colours, shapes, and general awareness.
- Conduct circle time, rhymes, action songs, storytelling, music, and movement activities.
- Use flashcards, puppets, toys, Montessori materials, and other teaching aids effectively.
- Encourage learning through play, exploration, hands-on activities, and sensory experiences.
- Follow the school's curriculum, lesson plans, and daily schedule.
2. Child Development
- Observe and understand each child's individual learning needs.
- Encourage children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative development.
- Support children in developing independence and good habits.
- Encourage sharing, communication, cooperation, and positive behaviour.
- Provide individual attention and support wherever required.
3. Classroom Management
- Maintain a clean, organised, welcoming, and child-friendly classroom.
- Establish positive classroom routines and age-appropriate boundaries.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
- Handle minor conflicts between children calmly and positively.
- Maintain discipline through positive reinforcement rather than punishment.
4. Activities & Events
- Plan and conduct:
- Art & craft
- Clay and sensory activities
- Montessori practical-life activities
- Role play
- Storytelling
- Rhymes and action songs
- Indoor and outdoor activities
- Theme-based activities
- Festivals and special-day celebrations
- Participate actively in school events, celebrations, field trips, and parent engagement activities.
5. Parent Communication
- Maintain positive and professional communication with parents.
- Share children's progress, achievements, and areas requiring support.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings.
- Communicate important classroom or child-related information to parents through the school's approved communication channels.
6. Documentation & Planning
- Prepare daily/weekly lesson plans and activity plans.
- Maintain children's observation records and developmental assessments.
- Maintain attendance and other classroom records.
- Prepare teaching-learning materials as required.
- Document children's work and classroom activities.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- NTT / PPT / Montessori / ECCE / D.Ed. / B.Ed. or relevant early-childhood education qualification.
- Previous preschool teaching experience is preferred.
- Freshers with the right qualification and a genuine interest in early-childhood education may also apply.
