About the role
The Lead Business Analyst in the Analytics CoE is responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of analytics use cases, from problem definition through solution delivery and value realization.this role acts as a trusted analytics partner to business stakeholders, leading complex analytics initiatives, shaping analytics solutions, and ensuring insights are actionable, scalable, and aligned with business strategy. The Lead BA mentors junior BAs, influences analytics design decisions, and plays a key role in driving analytics maturity across the organization
A. Business Problem Ownership & Analytics Solutioning
Lead discussions with senior business stakeholders to identify, frame, and prioritize analytics use cases
Translate strategic business objectives into analytics problem statements and solution approaches
Define enterprise‑level KPIs, metrics, and performance frameworks
Apply strong domain knowledge to recommend process improvements and data‑driven decisions
B. Requirements Leadership & Functional Design
Own end‑to‑end requirements for complex analytics initiatives
Produce high‑quality artefacts including:
Functional and analytical requirement specifications
KPI definitions and calculation logic
Data mappings and semantic definitions
Review and validate requirements created by Junior BAs
Ensure consistency with Analytics CoE standards and best practices
C. Advanced Data Analysis & Insight Generation
Perform deep‑dive analysis across large and complex datasets
Interpret analytics outputs to derive business insights, trends, and root causes
Validate complex KPIs, hierarchies, and aggregations across analytics platforms
Guide teams in converting analysis into actionable recommendations for leadership
D. Analytics Delivery & Pod Leadership
Act as a senior member within analytics delivery pods
Partner closely with Product Managers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Engineers to:
Lead UAT, business sign‑off, and production readiness
Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and delivery issues
E. Stakeholder Management & Executive Communication
Serve as the primary analytics point of contact for business leaders
Present insights, dashboards, and recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders
Influence decision‑making through data‑backed storytelling
Manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders and initiatives
F. Mentorship, Standards & Continuous Improvement
Mentor and guide Business Analysts
Contribute to defining and improving:
Stay current with analytics trends, tools, and best practices and apply them pragmatically
Requirements
A. Functional Requirements
8–12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Analytics / BI / Data environments
Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional analytics initiatives
Strong domain expertise in areas such as Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, or Operations
Experience partnering with senior business stakeholders and leadership teams
B. Technical Requirements
Strong hands‑on experience with analytics and BI platforms
Deep exposure to SAP Analytics ecosystems (BW, HANA, S/4) and upstream SAP processes
Strong understanding of:
Experience validating complex dashboards and reports (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
Working knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques
C. Soft Skills
Strong analytical thinking and structured problem‑solving
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Ability to influence without authority
High ownership mindset with strong delivery focus
Mentoring and leadership capability within analytics teams
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments
4. Role Scope & Expectations
Owns end‑to‑end analytics use cases and domains
Acts as a decision partner, not just a requirement gatherer
Sets the quality bar for analytics BA work within CoE
Feeds into analytics strategy, roadmap, and prioritization discussions
