Job Title: Store Assistant
Department: Stores
Reports To: Store Manager / Purchase Manager
Job Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the hotel's stores by receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of food, beverages, operating supplies, engineering materials, housekeeping items, and other hotel assets. The Store Assistant ensures accurate inventory records while adhering to hotel policies, food safety standards, and inventory control procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Inspection
- Receive all deliveries as per approved Purchase Orders (POs).
- Verify the quantity, quality, expiry dates, and specifications of received items.
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Store Manager immediately.
- Prepare and maintain Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and other receiving documentation.
Inventory Management
- Arrange and store materials in designated locations with proper labeling.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices for food and beverage items.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the Store Manager about minimum stock requirements.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for dry, chilled, frozen, and chemical items.
Material Issue
- Issue materials only against approved Store Requisition Slips (SRS).
- Maintain accurate records of all stock issues and returns.
- Ensure timely delivery of requested items to various departments.
Stock Control
- Update inventory records in the hotel's inventory management system.
- Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
- Investigate and report stock variances.
- Support month-end inventory closing activities.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all store areas.
- Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
- Follow fire safety, occupational health, and security procedures.
- Store hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Accounts, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments regarding inventory requirements.
- Assist during audits and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- Higher Secondary (12th Pass) or Bachelor's Degree.
- Certification in Materials Management or Inventory Control is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hotel stores, hospitality, or inventory management.
- Experience with hotel inventory software (e.g., IDS, Material Control, FMC, or similar ERP systems) is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of hotel inventory procedures.
- Understanding of FIFO and FEFO inventory practices.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.

Working Conditions

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
