Job Summary:
A Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, goods, and services required by the organization. The role ensures timely procurement of quality products at competitive prices while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and complying with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
Obtain quotations and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Prepare and issue purchase orders.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement requirements with departments.
Ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Compare and analyze supplier prices, quality, and performance.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues.
Coordinate with stores, accounts, and production departments.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement (as applicable).
Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP software, and purchasing systems.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
