About the Role
Licksters is looking for a capable and hands-on Restaurant Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of Licksters One, our flagship store in Alwarpet, Chennai.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable being on the floor, leading a team, interacting with customers and ensuring that the restaurant runs smoothly throughout the day.
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for store operations, customer experience, team management, sales performance, inventory, food quality, hygiene and operational discipline.
This role is ideal for someone who has already worked in a well-managed restaurant, café or QSR environment and is now ready to independently manage an outlet.
Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
- Ensure smooth opening, shift operations and closing procedures.
- Ensure adequate staffing and proper deployment of the team during peak and non-peak hours.
- Monitor both front-of-house and kitchen operations.
- Ensure products are prepared, presented and served according to Licksters standards.
- Coordinate maintenance and immediately report equipment or infrastructure issues.
Customer Experience
- Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor, especially during peak hours.
- Ensure customers are attended to promptly and professionally.
- Personally handle customer complaints and ensure appropriate resolution.
- Monitor dine-in, takeaway and delivery customer feedback.
- Train the team on hospitality, product knowledge and customer interaction.
Sales & Store Performance
- Work towards achieving monthly store sales targets.
- Monitor daily sales and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Encourage appropriate upselling and cross-selling by the team.
- Track peak hours, product performance and customer preferences.
- Support new product launches, promotions and marketing activities at the store.
Team Management
- Manage and supervise the restaurant team across shifts.
- Prepare and coordinate staff rosters and weekly offs.
- Conduct regular team briefings.
- Ensure punctuality, grooming, uniforms and workplace discipline.
- Train new and existing team members on operational SOPs.
- Identify performance issues and take corrective action in coordination with management.
- Maintain a professional and positive working environment.
Inventory & Wastage Control
- Monitor daily stock levels and ensure timely indenting/reordering.
- Ensure accurate receiving and storage of products and ingredients.
- Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Monitor wastage, damages and stock discrepancies.
- Participate in periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure proper portioning and usage of ingredients.
Food Quality & Hygiene
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed consistently.
- Monitor cleanliness of the kitchen, service counters, storage areas and customer areas.
- Ensure refrigerators and freezers are maintained at required temperatures.
- Maintain cleaning and hygiene checklists.
- Coordinate with the Quality team during inspections and audits.
- Ensure corrective actions identified during audits are implemented.
Billing, Cash & Reporting
- Ensure correct POS and billing procedures are followed.
- Verify daily cash, UPI, card and online order reconciliation.
- Monitor discounts, cancellations and void transactions.
- Ensure opening and closing reports are completed accurately.
- Report sales, operational issues, manpower concerns and stock discrepancies to management.
Online & Delivery Operations
- Monitor Online Platform Orders and takeaway orders.
- Ensure orders are prepared and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Monitor packaging and presentation.
- Track complaints, cancellations and poor ratings and take corrective action.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with:
- 3–5 years of experience in restaurant, café, QSR, bakery or premium F&B operations.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Outlet Manager, Restaurant Manager, Senior Shift Manager or similar role.
- Experience managing a team and running shifts independently.
- Good understanding of restaurant operations, inventory and food hygiene.
- Strong customer-handling skills.
- Ability to manage pressure during busy restaurant hours.
- Basic understanding of food cost, wastage and store-level sales.
- Comfortable working with POS systems and operational reports.
- Good communication skills in Tamil and English.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays and rotational shifts.
Hotel Management / Hospitality qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
