Commercial Manager

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee and manage all commercial activities of the plant, including procurement, dispatch, inventory control, vendor management, statutory compliance, logistics coordination, and commercial documentation. The ideal candidate should have strong commercial acumen, experience in SAP/ERP systems, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update sales order records in SAP/ERP systems.
- Manage end-to-end commercial operations, including procurement, purchasing, dispatch, and inventory control.
- Arrange transportation and logistics for dispatch of finished and semi-finished products.
- Ensure accurate dispatch documentation and reconciliation of finished goods.
- Prepare and monitor Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) for incoming materials and coordinate approvals with Head Office.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Purchase departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and services.
- Evaluate, develop, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers and service providers.
- Review purchase orders, quotations, contracts, and other commercial documents.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure regular reconciliation of physical stock with SAP records for Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Goods (FG).
- Submit daily sales, production, inventory, and operational reports to management and Head Office.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports related to production, sales, procurement, inventory, and commercial performance.
- Handle legal, statutory, and government-related matters pertaining to plant operations.
- Coordinate and manage audits related to GST, excise, statutory compliance, and internal controls.
- Manage petty cash transactions and ensure proper accountability and documentation.
- Maintain adequate stock of stationery and office consumables.
- Coordinate vendor payments and resolve commercial issues and discrepancies.
- Monitor procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
- Track market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks affecting procurement and operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, commercial procedures, statutory regulations, and internal control systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, transporters, service providers, and business partners.
- Lead and guide the commercial team to achieve departmental objectives.
Requirements
- Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM
- 8–15 years of experience in Commercial, Procurement, Stores, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Plant Commercial Operations.
- Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, dispatch, inventory management, and commercial documentation.
- Experience in vendor management, negotiations, and contract handling.
- Knowledge of GST, statutory compliance, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
