Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled HMC Operator to operate and monitor Horizontal Machining Center (HMC) machines for precision manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for machine operation, tool management, quality checks, and achieving production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HMC machines according to production requirements and work instructions.
- Load and unload components, fixtures, and pallets safely.
- Verify machine setup before production runs.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure uninterrupted production.
- Perform tool offset corrections and replace worn or damaged tools as required.
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and inspection plans.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.
- Maintain production records, machine logs, and quality reports.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep machines clean.
- Report machine breakdowns, quality issues, and production concerns to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and company procedures.
Required Skills
- Experience operating HMC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand machining processes.
- Familiarity with cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and quality inspection procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or related field.
- Relevant experience in HMC machine operation.
