Position: Mining Manager

Reporting To: Director / General Manager – Operations
Experience: Experience Required
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in the Mining and Mineral Processing Industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end mining operations, including mine planning, production, drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and transportation of minerals.
- Hands-on experience in industrial mineral mining such as Limestone, Dolomite, Quartz, Feldspar, Silica, Talc, Bentonite, Calcium Carbonate, or similar minerals.
- Strong understanding of mineral processing operations, including crushing, screening, grinding, classification, beneficiation, material handling, and dispatch.
- Experience in managing both open-cast mining operations (preferred) and coordinating with mineral processing/manufacturing plants.
- Demonstrated expertise in achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Experience in planning and optimizing mine production schedules to ensure uninterrupted raw material availability for processing plants.
- Sound knowledge of DGMS regulations, Mines Act, Mineral Conservation Rules (MCR), Environmental Protection Act, Factory Act, and other statutory requirements applicable to mining operations.
- Experience in obtaining and maintaining statutory approvals, licenses, inspections, and liaison with government authorities.
- Proven ability to manage mining contractors, transport contractors, vendors, and third-party service providers.
- Strong experience in operating and maintaining heavy earthmoving machinery and mining equipment such as Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Dumpers, Dozers, Drilling Rigs, Crushers, Conveyors, Ball Mills, Pulverizers, Vibrating Screens, Classifiers, and other mineral processing equipment.
- Experience in implementing preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
- Exposure to production planning, inventory management, spare parts planning, fuel consumption monitoring, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ability to analyze production reports, equipment utilization, recovery rates, and operational KPIs to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Continuous Improvement initiatives will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams comprising mining engineers, supervisors, operators, mechanics, electricians, quality personnel, and contractors.
- Experience in preparing and presenting MIS reports, production reports, safety reports, and operational dashboards to senior management.
- Excellent knowledge of mine safety standards, hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and incident investigation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, production management software, and Microsoft Excel for operational planning and reporting.
- Ability to handle multiple operational priorities, resolve technical issues, and make timely decisions under demanding production environments.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering (preferred). Candidates with Mechanical, Mineral, or Metallurgical Engineering and significant mining experience may also be considered.
- First Class Manager's Certificate of Competency (where applicable) will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented approach.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Willingness to travel to mines, processing plants, and project sites as required.
- Experience in the Industrial Minerals, Mining, Mineral Grinding, Cement, Chemical, or Building Materials industry will be highly preferred.
