About the Role
Hayat Hospital is looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Cook to support the hospital kitchen operations and ensure timely preparation of hygienic, nutritious, and quality meals for patients, attendants, doctors, and staff.
The ideal candidate should have experience working in a hospital, healthcare facility, institutional kitchen, or large-scale food service environment and possess a strong understanding of food hygiene, nutrition standards, and kitchen safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing meals, beverages, and special diets as per hospital requirements
- Support the Head Cook and kitchen team in daily food preparation activities
- Ensure food is prepared according to quality, hygiene, and nutrition standards
- Assist in preparing patient diets as instructed by dieticians and hospital management
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow food safety guidelines and infection control practices
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food supplies properly
- Ensure proper portion control and timely meal distribution
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and storage areas
- Support inventory management and stock monitoring activities
- Follow all hospital kitchen policies and safety procedures
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Assistant Cook, Cook, or Kitchen Assistant
- Hospital, healthcare, institutional, hotel, or large kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene practices
- Understanding of patient diet requirements and hospital food services preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and capable of handling kitchen operations
