1. Feasibility Review and cost analysis
- Conduct regular feasibility discussions with R&D teams, functional heads, and cross-functional stakeholders to determine project direction and technical viability.
- Analyze part costing, testing estimates, tooling investments, and related inputs to develop accurate product cost estimates
- Perform deep-dive cost analysis and validate supporting data to ensure reliability of cost assumptions and documentation
- Develop comprehensive business cases and cost breakdowns for customer presentations and internal approvals.
- Address customer queries, justify cost structures, and propose commercially viable technical alternatives whenever required.
2. Project Management and Execution
- Collaborate with Cross Functional Teams (CFT) to identify de-risking initiatives, alternate sourcing opportunities, and VAVE projects from concept to final implementation.
- Track project milestones and coordinate with plant stakeholders to ensure timely execution of post-mass production projects.
- Identify potential risks impacting project timelines, budgets, or technical feasibility, and drive corrective actions through structured problem solving
- Lead internal decision-making on engineering changes that do not impact product functionality or customer requirements.
- Coordinate with customers for major design or sourcing changes and provide required technical and commercial documentation to enable timely approvals.
- Monitor development and implementation costs throughout the project lifecycle and ensure adherence to approved budgets
- Escalate critical cost or project risks to R&D leadership and plant stakeholders while proposing mitigation strategies.
3. Process and documentation re-alignment
- Drive system correction with different teams and ensure version control is practiced effectively for accommodating changes / modifications
- Re-align different teams internally in case of a change request; ensure drawings are modified to represent the modified part / product and all the subsequent processes build in the change / modification
- Drive different teams to ensure all design changes / modifications are recorded appropriately
- Ensure system corrections, calibration reports, POP reports are available with appropriate records accounting for changes in plant
- Regularly review documentation with the team and ensure it is in place; escalate to functional heads in case documentation is not being updated in an appropriate manner
4. MIS review and performance reviews
- Participate in regular reviews with CEO and Operations Head for different projects; proactively present the progress across different projects and highlight potential risks / derailers
- Present consolidated progress updates across ongoing projects while highlighting potential risks or implementation challenges.
- Prepare and circulate structured MIS reports summarizing project progress, implementation status, and realized cost savings.
5. Implementation and Organizational support
- Track critical parameters including quality performance, cost targets, and supplier de-risking initiatives during project implementation.
- Ensure alignment with customer timelines and internal operational readiness for project rollouts
- Guide the team in gathering plant-level data related to design parameters, change management activities, and customer escalations
- Ensure regular updates of project trackers, change management documentation, and MIS reports for internal reviews
6. Benchmarking and competitive analysis
- Conduct cost, weight, and performance benchmarking of competitor products for electrical and electronic components
- Develop benchmarking sheets and detailed analysis reports covering BOM structures, raw material composition, manufacturing processes, and performance comparisons.
- Maintain benchmarking databases to support engineering teams in identifying improvement opportunities.
7. Stakeholder management
- Build strong and balanced relationships with different R&D Heads / Senior Plant stakeholders in order to ensure collaboration and cooperation during different project stages for complete change management.
- Ensure different teams are all aligned with respect to detailed project timelines and budgets
8. People development
- Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent across positions within the organization
- Guide and mentor young talent within the organization; motivate and engage them to ensure they leverage their ambition to add value to the organization’s goals.
