Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, preparing financial reports, overseeing audits, and maintaining accurate financial records. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and extensive knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and expenditure.
- Prepare MIS reports for management review.
Taxation & Compliance
- Handle GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and other regulatory reports.
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and assessments.
- Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and government regulations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Monitor vendor payments and customer receivables.
- Verify invoices, payment vouchers, and supporting documents.
- Reconcile bank statements and vendor/customer accounts regularly.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Develop and implement internal financial controls.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Payroll & Budgeting
- Support payroll processing and salary reconciliations.
- Assist in annual budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
Team Management
- Guide and supervise junior accounting staff.
- Ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
- Train team members on accounting procedures and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com).
- CA Inter / CMA / M.Com preferred.
- Professional accounting certification will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Experience in educational institutions will be preferred.
- Strong exposure to GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Tally ERP, Busy, or ERP accounting software.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
