Job Summary
The Production Officer is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and documenting manufacturing activities in accordance with GMP guidelines, SOPs, and approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs). The role ensures timely production while maintaining product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities Production Operations
- Execute daily production activities as per the production plan.
- Supervise manufacturing processes including dispensing, granulation, blending, compression, coating, capsule filling or packing operations .
- Ensure manufacturing activities are carried out according to approved BMRs and SOPs.
- Monitor production targets and ensure timely completion of batches.
- Minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.
GMP & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with GMP, GDP, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the production area.
- Ensure proper line clearance before and after every batch.
- Follow and enforce safety procedures and use of PPE.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Documentation
- Review and complete Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
- Record equipment usage, cleaning logs, and production logs.
- Report deviations, incidents, and non-conformances promptly.
- Ensure all production documentation is accurate, complete, and timely.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Verify equipment cleanliness and readiness before production.
- Coordinate with the Engineering/Maintenance department for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure proper calibration status of production equipment before use.
Quality Coordination
- Coordinate with QA for line clearance, in-process checks, and batch release activities.
- Coordinate with QC for sampling and testing requirements.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for quality observations.
Team Management
- Supervise operators and production assistants.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Train new employees on SOPs, GMP, safety, and production practices.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.
Inventory & Material Management
- Ensure availability of raw materials and packing materials before batch initiation.
- Control material usage and reduce wastage.
- Reconcile materials after batch completion.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Participate in investigations related to deviations, OOS, and CAPA implementation.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Chemistry or Life Sciences)
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing plant.
- Experience in tablet and capsule manufacturing is preferred.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of GMP, GDP, and pharmaceutical documentation.
- Understanding of Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs) and SOPs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of production equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word, ERP).

Working Conditions
- Work in shifts as per production requirements.
- Use PPE and follow all EHS and GMP requirements.
- Support overtime and weekend production activities when required.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
