Role overview
We are looking for a Preschool Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role plans and delivers daily classroom activities, supports each child’s social-emotional and early learning development, and partners with parents and staff to ensure a consistent, positive experience.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and classroom activities (stories, art, music, movement, play-based learning).
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment aligned to school policies.
- Observe and document children’s progress; share updates with parents/guardians as needed.
- Support children’s routines and self-help skills (arrival, snack/lunch, toileting support as applicable, transitions).
- Maintain classroom materials and learning corners; ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff on lesson planning, events, and classroom needs.
- Follow child safeguarding, health, and safety procedures; report concerns promptly.
- Participate in parent meetings, school events, and required trainings during working hours or as scheduled by the school.
Required qualifications and experience
- Minimum education: NTT/D.Ed./B.Ed./Graduate with early childhood certification
- Experience: teaching preschool/kindergarten or working with children ages 1-6 years
- Strong communication skills in English/Hindi and other local language
- Patience, warmth, and strong classroom management suited to early years.
- Ability to plan activities, manage time, and work collaboratively with a team.
Preferred (nice to have)
- Training/experience in play-based learning, Montessori, or EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
- First-aid certification (or willingness to complete).
- Experience using basic classroom documentation tools (photos, progress notes, simple reports).
