Job Summary:
The Production Chemist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing chemical processes in the production environment. This role involves ensuring that the manufacturing processes are safe, efficient, and aligned with product quality standards while complying with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and improve production processes to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, EPA).
- Conduct regular quality checks and audits of the production process, raw materials, and final products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the production process.
- Work closely with R&D, quality control, and other departments to implement new processes or improve existing ones.
- Document all production processes and maintain accurate records of product specifications, batch details, and production outcomes.
- Manage and supervise laboratory tests to ensure that products meet required standards.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior staff in laboratory practices and safety protocols.
- Ensure that production equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Collaborate in the scale-up and transition of processes from the lab to full-scale production.
- Provide support during inspections and audits from regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, OSHA).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree or advanced qualifications in chemistry or chemical engineering.
- Experience with specific production equipment or processes relevant to the industry.
- Knowledge of process optimization and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in laboratory analysis and quality control procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with regular working hours.
- Potential need for overtime or weekend work depending on production schedules.
