Role Overview
The Dental Assistant supports the dentist in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care. The role involves chairside assistance, maintaining clinic hygiene and sterilization standards, handling patients professionally, and ensuring smooth day-to-day clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Chairside Assistance
- Assist the dentist during procedures such as scaling, fillings, root canal treatments (RCT), extractions, implants, and other dental treatments.
- Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment required for procedures.
- Ensure proper sterilization and availability of dental tools and instruments.
2. Patient Management
- Greet and guide patients within the clinic.
- Prepare patients for dental procedures and treatments.
- Provide basic post-treatment care instructions to patients.
- Maintain a calm, polite, and professional attitude while interacting with patients.
3. Clinic Hygiene & Sterilization
- Maintain cleanliness of dental chairs, instruments, and clinic premises.
- Follow infection control protocols and sterilization standards strictly.
- Dispose of biomedical waste according to prescribed guidelines and regulations.
4. Inventory & Equipment Handling
- Maintain stock levels of dental materials, instruments, and consumables.
- Inform management regarding low stock levels or additional requirements.
- Ensure proper handling and functioning of dental equipment.
5. Administrative Support
- Manage patient appointments and maintain patient records accurately.
- Support front-desk and clinic coordination activities when required.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Minimum qualification: 10th Pass
Experience
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is mandatory.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Basic knowledge of dental instruments and dental procedures.
- Good communication skills in Hindi; basic English communication preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Strong teamwork and positive attitude.
- Basic computer knowledge.
