Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and innovative QSR Food Consultant to develop, standardize, and optimize our Quick Service Restaurant operations. The consultant will be responsible for designing menus, creating standardized recipes, implementing kitchen SOPs, ensuring food quality, improving operational efficiency, and supporting new outlet launches. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in QSR concepts, cloud kitchens, cafés, or fast-food chains.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Development
- Design and develop innovative QSR menus.
- Create recipes for snacks, burgers, wraps, pizzas, sandwiches, rolls, beverages, desserts, and combo meals.
- Develop seasonal and promotional menus.
- Ensure menu profitability and customer appeal.
Recipe Standardization
- Prepare standardized recipes with precise measurements.
- Develop recipe cards with cooking methods and plating guidelines.
- Standardize portion sizes and serving specifications.
- Ensure consistency across all outlets.
Kitchen Operations
- Design efficient kitchen workflows.
- Recommend kitchen equipment and layout.
- Implement production planning and batch cooking methods.
- Improve kitchen productivity and reduce preparation time.
Food Cost & Inventory Management
- Conduct food costing for all menu items.
- Maintain target food cost percentages.
- Recommend cost-effective ingredients without compromising quality.
- Minimize wastage through inventory control systems.
SOP Development
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for:
- Food preparation
- Food storage
- Kitchen hygiene
- Cleaning and sanitation
- Receiving raw materials
- Inventory management
- Opening and closing procedures
- Quality control
Staff Training
- Train chefs and kitchen staff on recipes and SOPs.
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training.
- Improve productivity and cooking techniques.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Conduct regular kitchen audits.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Address customer feedback related to food quality.
New Outlet Setup
- Assist in launching new QSR outlets.
- Develop kitchen setup and equipment lists.
- Support vendor selection and procurement.
- Oversee trial runs and kitchen readiness before launch.
Vendor & Procurement Management
- Identify and evaluate food suppliers.
- Standardize approved ingredients and vendors.
- Ensure quality and consistency of raw materials.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Support implementation of hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Maintain required operational documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Professional culinary certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in Quick Service Restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens, or fast-food chains.
- Experience in menu engineering and kitchen setup.
- Proven experience in SOP implementation and food cost management.
- Experience in launching new restaurant outlets is preferred.
