We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Tool Room Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Vizag. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of various tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures essential for our production processes. This role requires a strong understanding of precision machining, material science, and problem-solving to ensure optimal tool performance and operational efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling components to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Fabricate new tools, dies, and machine components from raw materials according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Operate and program a variety of machine tools, including CNC milling machines, lathes, grinding machines, EDM machines, and conventional machining equipment.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and other metrology instruments to verify tool dimensions and quality.
- Interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to guide fabrication and repair processes.
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality control teams to identify tooling issues, implement improvements, and support new product development.
- Manage tool inventory, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring availability and proper storage.
- Implement and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules for all tool room machinery and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, tool life extension, and cost reduction within the tool room operations.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and production staff regarding tooling best practices.
