Job Summary: The Energy Audit & Sales Engineer is responsible for conducting industrial energy audits and providing solutions to improve energy efficiency. The engineer must effectively communicate audit findings, present cost-saving advantages, and convert customers into buyers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Energy Audits & Diagnostics Conduct onsite energy efficiency audits for: Compressed air leak detection Steam insulation surveys Pressure safety valve & control valve performance audits Utilize tools like ultrasonic leak detectors, thermal cameras, flow meters, and data loggers to identify inefficiencies. Analyze energy consumption patterns and identify areas for improvement
2. Technical Analysis & Report Preparation Prepare detailed audit reports with cost-benefit analysis and energy-saving opportunities. Recommend practical and cost-effective solutions to optimize compressed air, steam, and valve systems. Work with internal teams to develop energy-saving proposals and quotations.
3. Sales & Business Development Present audit findings to customers in a clear and persuasive manner. Highlight the financial benefits of implementing recommended energy conservation measures. Address customer concerns and negotiate solutions based on their budget and requirements. Work with the sales team to convert audit reports into purchase orders (POs). Follow up with customers on implementation and potential upselling opportunities.
4. Customer Engagement & Relationship Building Develop strong customer relationships with plant managers, maintenance heads, and procurement teams. Conduct technical presentations, webinars, and training sessions for customers. Keep customers updated on energy efficiency trends and compliance requirements.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of compressed air systems, steam insulation, control valves, and pressure safety valves. Experience with energy audit tools (thermal imaging, ultrasonic detectors, flow meters, etc.) Sales & Business Development Skills: Ability to convert audit findings into a compelling business case. Experience in technical sales, B2B client engagement, and deal closing. Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, ROI-driven terms to decision-makers.
Experience Required: 2+ years of experience in industrial energy audits, technical sales, or energy efficiency consulting. Experience in customer-facing roles, proposal drafting, and business development is a plus.
Work Environment: Frequent site visits to industrial plants and customer facilities. Hybrid role involving both technical auditing and sales presentations. Requires travel to client locations for audits and meetings.
