Position Title: PPC Head / Production Planning & Control Head

Experience Required: 10–15 years (minimum 5–7 years specifically in Gear Manufacturing & Forging industry)
Qualification: B.Tech / BE – Mechanical / Industrial Engineering (preferred)
Role Summary
The PPC Head will be responsible for end-to-end planning, scheduling, monitoring, and optimizing production operations across the gear shop, heat treatment, machining, and forging units. The role ensures on-time delivery, optimal capacity utilization, inventory control, and seamless coordination between production, quality, purchase, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Develop master production schedules (MPS) based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity.
Plan production for Gear cutting, Machining, Hobbing, Shaving, Grinding, Heat Treatment & Forging operations.
Create daily/weekly/monthly production plans ensuring resource optimization.
2. Capacity & Resource Management
Evaluate machine capacity for CNC, VMC, gear cutting machines, forging hammers/presses etc.
Identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements.
Ensure manpower planning and shift scheduling.
3. Material & Inventory Control
Coordinate with purchase to ensure timely availability of raw material, die/forging billets, cutters, tools & consumables.
Maintain optimum WIP, RM, and finished goods inventory levels.
Implement MRP and maintain accurate BOMs and routing.
4. Production Monitoring & Control
Track daily production vs. plan and take corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and provide real-time updates to management.
Monitor rework, scrap, downtime, and efficiency KPIs.
5. Coordination & Cross-Functional Interface
Work closely with Sales, Design, Quality, Purchase, and Manufacturing teams.
Communicate committed delivery dates and follow-ups with all stakeholders.
Drive improvements through Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
6. Data Analysis & Reporting
Prepare MIS reports on production, capacity utilization, OEE, and delivery performance.
7. Vendor management
Use ERP systems for planning, scheduling, and tracking.
Present monthly PPC metrics to management.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong experience in Gear Manufacturing processes:
Hobbing, Shaping, Shaving, Grinding
Heat treatment
Turning, Milling, Drilling
Experience in Forging industry processes:
Drop forging / press forging
Die design understanding
Billet planning
Excellent knowledge of PPC tools, MRP, ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Leadership ability to manage teams and drive process excellence.
High proficiency in Excel, scheduling software, and production tracking tools.
Preferred Industry Background

Forging units supplying to OEMs / Tier-1 manufacturers
Precision machining and heavy engineering industries
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
