Key Responsibilities
1. Perform routine maintenance (cleaning coils, checking oil levels) and repair HVAC chiller systems, including compressors, evaporators, and condensers.
2. Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical faults using specialized tools to minimize system downtime.
3. Install new chiller equipment and conduct start-ups to verify functionality according to manufacturer specifications.
4. Adhere to OSHA and company safety policies, handle refrigerants properly, and complete site hazard assessments.
5. Maintain accurate records of service, parts usage, and system performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience as an HVAC or specialized Chiller Technician.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of refrigeration cycles, water-cooled/air-cooled chillers, screw chillers, and centrifugal chillers.
- Certifications: EPA certification for refrigerant handling is typically required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs, work at heights, and work in varied weather conditions.
