Job Overview
New Horizon Scholars School Rodas is inviting applications for the post of Lab Assistant to support the Science Department across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The candidate should be experienced, safety-conscious, and enthusiastic about working in an academic environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc.) with specialization in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
- Additional lab safety or technician certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in a school science laboratory or similar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials before practical classes
· Assist teachers during lab sessions and demonstrations
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory
· Ensure proper storage and labelling of chemicals and equipment
· Handle and dispose of laboratory waste safely as per guidelines
· Maintain inventory of lab supplies and report shortages
· Ensure safety rules and procedures are followed by students
· Perform minor repairs and upkeep of lab equipment
· Keep records of experiments, materials used, and stock levels
· Keep record of student’s attendance
· Assist in setting up experiments as instructed by teachers
· Insure to removal of deadstock with respective lab manual and journal book
Skills & Qualifications:
· Minimum qualification: BSC/MSC pass (Science background preferred)
· Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety procedures
· Ability to handle chemicals and tools responsibly
· Good organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to work with students and staff cooperatively
Preferred Requirements:
· Prior experience in a school or college laboratory
· Familiarity with Physics, Chemistry, or Biology lab setups
· Basic first aid knowledge
· Handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals according to safety guidelines and school policies.
Working Conditions:
· Work is performed in a laboratory environment
· May involve handling chemicals and equipment
· Requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
