Role Summary
We are looking for a Procurement Engineer who will take ownership of project procurement for Agnim's Fire Protection projects. The person will manage vendor sourcing, RFQs, technical-commercial comparisons, negotiation, purchase orders, delivery tracking and coordination with project sites to ensure the right materials are available at the right price, quality and time.

1. Project Procurement
· Review approved BOQs, Material Requirement Sheets and Purchase Requisitions received from the Estimation/Projects team.
· Understand project specifications and required material standards.
· Identify procurement priorities based on project execution schedules.
· Plan and execute project-wise procurement.
· Ensure materials are procured ahead of site requirements.
· Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers regarding upcoming requirements.
2. Vendor Development
· Develop and maintain a strong vendor network for Fire Protection and engineering materials.
· Identify new suppliers for pipes, valves, fittings, sprinklers, pumps, fire alarm equipment and other project materials.
· Develop alternate vendors for critical materials.
· Evaluate vendors based on quality, price, delivery capability and reliability.
· Maintain an updated vendor database.
3. RFQ & Commercial Comparison
· Float RFQs to suitable vendors.
· Obtain and evaluate quotations.
· Prepare technical and commercial comparison statements.
· Verify quoted specifications against project requirements.
· Compare price, taxes, freight, delivery period, warranty and payment terms.
· Recommend suitable vendors to management.
4. Negotiation
· Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery period, freight, warranty, credit period and replacement terms.
· Identify opportunities for procurement cost savings.
· Maintain historical purchase prices to support negotiations.
5. Purchase Orders
· Coordinate with Accounts department to make Purchase Orders as per approved commercial terms.
· Ensure PO specifications, quantities, prices and delivery locations are correct.
· Coordinate internal approval of purchase orders.
· Communicate confirmed orders to vendors.
· Maintain complete procurement documentation.
6. Material Delivery & Expediting
· Track every open purchase order until material reaches site.
· Follow up regularly with vendors regarding production and dispatch.
· Monitor committed versus actual delivery dates.
· Identify potential delays before they affect project execution.
· Coordinate logistics and transportation where required.
· Escalate critical procurement delays to the Project Manager.
· Maintain an Open PO / Material Delivery Tracker.
7. Material Quality & Compliance
· Ensure supplied materials match approved specifications.
· Coordinate inspection of materials where required.
· Verify relevant test certificates, manufacturer certificates and documentation.
· Coordinate resolution of defective, damaged or incorrect materials.
· Arrange replacement/return of non-conforming materials.
· Maintain procurement quality records.
8. Cost Control
· Monitor project procurement against approved budgets.
· Compare actual purchase prices with budget/estimated prices.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Track material price fluctuations.
· Maintain historical purchase-price data.
· Avoid unnecessary emergency purchases.
· Support Project Managers in controlling procurement costs.
Fire Protection Knowledge
A working understanding of Fire Protection materials is preferred. Knowledge of the following will be an advantage:

· Sprinkler Systems
· Fire Pumps

Fire System Design – Added Advantage
Fire Protection design knowledge is not mandatory. Candidates who can understand Fire Protection drawings, specifications and technical requirements will have an advantage.
Desired Candidate Profile
· 2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing for Fire Protection, MEP, EPC, Industrial Projects, Mechanical Contracting or Industrial Piping.
· Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Technology, Supply Chain / Procurement or related field.
· Hands-on experience in RFQ, vendor comparison, negotiation, purchase orders and delivery follow-up.
· Experience handling engineering/project materials.
· Strong MS Excel skills.
· Good vendor negotiation and follow-up skills.
· Strong coordination with Project and Site teams.
· Detail-oriented, commercially aware and comfortable working with project deadlines.
