We are looking for an experienced C&I Solar Project Manager to lead end-to-end execution of commercial and industrial rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects. The role will be responsible for project planning, engineering coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, customer management, quality, safety, timelines, and commercial performance.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in C&I solar EPC project execution, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, contractors, vendors, customers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution
- Manage complete project lifecycle from project handover through commissioning and project closure.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.
- Monitor daily/weekly project progress and take corrective actions when required.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously across different customer locations.
2. Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams for:
- Site surveys
- Rooftop structural assessment
- Electrical single-line diagrams
- PV system design
- Module and inverter selection
- Cable sizing and routing
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Solar monitoring systems
- Review drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Resolve technical issues during execution in coordination with engineering teams.
3. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Coordinate procurement of modules, inverters, structures, cables, BOS materials, electrical equipment, and other project requirements.
- Track material availability and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Manage EPC contractors, installation teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications.
4. Site Execution & Commissioning
- Supervise site installation activities and ensure adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper installation of PV modules, structures, DC/AC systems, inverters, HT/LT systems, SCADA and monitoring systems.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, synchronization, and handover.
- Ensure all punch points are closed before project completion.
5. Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary project interface with C&I customers.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate project progress, risks, delays, and mitigation plans.
- Manage customer expectations and resolve project-related issues professionally.
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, consultants, inspection agencies, and other statutory stakeholders where required.
6. Cost & Commercial Management
- Track project budget, cost commitments, material consumption, and variations.
- Monitor project profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review contractor bills and work completion measurements.
- Manage change requests, additional works, and commercial variations.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.
7. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable MNRE, CEA, DISCOM, electrical, structural, and safety requirements.
- Implement project quality-control procedures.
- Ensure site teams follow proper HSE practices.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure rectification of non-conformities.
- Maintain project documentation, test reports, as-built drawings, and commissioning records.
8. Project Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Track key project KPIs including:
- Project schedule
- Cost
- Procurement status
- Installation progress
- Quality
- Safety
- Customer issues
- Project risks
- Escalate critical issues to management with clear mitigation plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in solar EPC project management, preferably in C&I projects.
- Experience in executing rooftop solar projects, preferably 100 kW to multi-MW scale.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical systems, BOS, HT/LT systems, and commissioning.
- Experience in contractor, vendor, and customer management.
- Strong project planning and execution skills.
- Good understanding of MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, ERP/project management tools, or equivalent platforms.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with C&I rooftop solar EPC projects.
- Experience with industrial customers, factories, warehouses, commercial buildings, and large campuses.
- Knowledge of DISCOM approval, net metering/open access, synchronization, and statutory processes.
- Experience managing multiple project sites.
- PMP/PRINCE2 or other project management certification is an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader who understands both the technical and commercial aspects of C&I solar EPC. The person should be comfortable working at customer sites, managing contractors and suppliers, resolving execution challenges, and taking ownership of the project from engineering to commissioning and handover.
