Job Summary
The Assistant Purchase Manager supports procurement operations by sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing procurement activities.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery performance.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.
- Coordinate with stores, production, accounts, and other departments regarding material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment as required.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delays, shortages, and quality concerns.
- Analyze purchasing trends and prepare procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
