Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Compliance Manager to manage end-to-end payroll, statutory compliance, labour law compliance, and HR operations for our plant and corporate operations.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manufacturing/plant environments, excellent knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliances, and hands-on expertise in Advanced Excel and payroll/HRMS systems.
Key Responsibilities
- cManage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for permanent and contract employees.
- Verify attendance, leave, overtime, shift allowances, incentives, deductions, arrears and other payroll inputs.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of salaries and full & final settlements.
- Manage statutory compliances including PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, LWF, TDS and other applicable compliances.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and factory/plant-related regulations.
- Manage contract labour compliance, including contractor documentation and statutory records.
- Handle statutory audits, labour inspections and compliance-related queries/notices.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, reports and documentation.
- Manage NAPS/Apprenticeship-related compliance and documentation, where applicable.
- Prepare payroll, compliance and HR MIS reports for management.
- Coordinate with Plant HR, Corporate HR, Finance, Accounts, contractors and government authorities.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of payroll and statutory data.
- Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and guide the payroll/compliance team.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Payroll, HR Operations and Statutory Compliance.
- Strong experience in manufacturing / factory / plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Labour Laws and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience in PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS and other applicable compliances.
- Experience in contract labour compliance.
- Experience handling statutory audits and labour inspections.
- Knowledge/experience of NAPS / Apprenticeship compliance will be an advantage.
- Advanced Excel is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, IF/IFS, data reconciliation and MIS reporting.
- Knowledge of Power Query will be an added advantage.
- Experience with SAP / HRMS / Payroll software preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good team management and stakeholder coordination skills.
Qualification
- Graduate/Postgraduate in HR, Labour Law, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
- Additional certification in Labour Laws, Payroll or HR Compliance will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates from manufacturing, engineering, industrial, factory or plant-based organizations with strong hands-on experience in payroll and statutory/labour compliance will be preferred.
