Food and Beverage Steward
A Food and Beverage (F&B) Steward is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of the dining area and kitchen. The primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, banquet facilities, and kitchen.
Job Description:
1. Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitize all utensils, dishes, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and other F&B facilities.
- Regularly clean and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers.
- Arrange and store dishes, silverware, and glassware properly.
2. Assisting Kitchen Staff:
- Assist chefs and cooks in basic food preparation tasks.
- Support kitchen staff during peak hours by washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Responsible for food storage and proper labeling of items in the kitchen.
3. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, utensils, and other necessary items.
- Report low stock levels to the supervisor and assist in restocking supplies.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Follow proper sanitation procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report any equipment malfunction or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
5. Guest Service:
- Assist in table setting and maintaining a clean and well-organized dining area.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to guest requests and inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure seamless service to guests.
6. Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other F&B staff members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
- Work closely with chefs, waitstaff, and other kitchen personnel to meet guest expectations.
7. Multitasking:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy hours.
- Stay calm under pressure and manage time effectively to prioritize tasks.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous 2-3 years experience as steward is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
