Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose electrical faults in motors, control panels, PLC systems, drives, and industrial machines.
- Maintain electrical distribution systems, wiring, lighting, and power supply equipment.
- Inspect, test, and repair electrical components such as contactors, relays, switches, MCC panels, and sensors.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Ensure proper functioning of fabrication machinery such as welding machines, CNC machines, compressors, cranes, and hydraulic systems.
- Monitor and maintain DG sets, transformers, and power backup systems.
- Carry out routine inspections and record maintenance activities.
- Follow electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company EHS policies.
- Coordinate with production and mechanical maintenance teams during equipment shutdowns and repairs.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and report material requirements.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of PLCs, VFDs, motors, and control circuits.
- Ability to use electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and meggers.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems.
- Basic knowledge of automation systems is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency breakdowns.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrician Trade.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in an engineering fabrication or manufacturing company.
Working Conditions
- Factory/shop-floor environment.
- May require shift duties, overtime, and emergency maintenance support.
