Job Designation: Indoor Sports Coach
Job Summary:
The Indoor Sports Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting coaching sessions for indoor sports while promoting physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. The role includes identifying and nurturing sporting talent, preparing teams for inter-school, inter-collegiate, university, and state/national-level competitions, maintaining sports facilities and equipment, and ensuring the safe and effective conduct of all indoor sports activities.
Plan, organize, and conduct regular coaching sessions for assigned indoor sports disciplines.
Identify, train, and mentor talented students to enhance their technical and tactical skills.
Develop structured training schedules to improve students' fitness, performance, and competitive abilities.
Monitor individual player performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
Encourage discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and ethical sporting practices.
Select and prepare students for intra-college, inter-collegiate, university, district, state, and national-level competitions.
Organize practice matches, tournaments, and sports events within the institution.
Coordinate with sports authorities, educational institutions, and organizing committees for participation in competitions.
Maintain records of student participation, achievements, rankings, and performance.
Ensure proper maintenance and safe usage of indoor sports facilities and equipment.
Conduct regular inspections of sports equipment and recommend repairs or replacements when necessary.
Maintain inventory records of sports equipment and accessories.
Ensure adherence to safety standards during coaching sessions and competitions.
Motivate students to actively participate in sports and recreational activities.
Conduct orientation programmes, workshops, and fitness awareness sessions.
Maintain attendance records, coaching schedules, and performance reports.
Coordinate with academic departments to ensure a balance between students' academic and sporting commitments.
Assist in organizing annual sports events and institutional sports activities.
5. Compliance & Other Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, sports regulations, and safety guidelines.
Promote fair play, discipline, and inclusive participation in sports.
Perform other responsibilities assigned by the reporting authority.
Educational Qualifications
Professional Certifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a coach at school or college level.
Experience as a player at District, State, or National level is desirable
Strong technical knowledge of the assigned indoor sport(s) and coaching methodologies.
Excellent communication, mentoring, and motivational skills.
Ability to identify and develop sporting talent.
Good organizational and event management skills.
Knowledge of sports rules, regulations, and safety standards.
Ability to prepare training plans and evaluate player performance.
Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer proficiency (MS Office) for maintaining reports and records.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and during tournaments, as required.
