Job Title: Scale Man / Weighbridge Operator
Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Scale Man to manage the weighing of all incoming and outgoing materials, including raw aluminum scrap, ingots, and finished products. This role is the "gatekeeper" of our inventory and financial accuracy, ensuring every load is correctly measured and documented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weight Measurement: Operate industrial weighbridges and computerized scales to measure the gross, tare, and net weights of delivery trucks and railcars.
- Data Documentation: Accurately record transaction data (vehicle ID, material type, weight) into the ERP or inventory system to facilitate billing and production tracking.
- Material Verification: Inspect incoming loads for material classification (e.g., specific aluminum grades) and ensure they match the shipping manifests.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce site traffic rules and ensure vehicles are positioned safely on the scale before weighing.
- Calibration: Conduct routine calibration checks on scale equipment and report any malfunctions to the maintenance team immediately.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum 10th or 12th standard.
- Experience: 1–3 years in an industrial weighing or logistics role, ideally within the metal or scrap processing sector.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Excel), strong mathematical reasoning, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
- Attributes: High integrity, extreme attention to detail, and good communication skills for interacting with drivers and plant supervisors.
